ANNA CLYNE Within Her Arms
W.A. MOZART Violin Concerto No. 5, “Turkish”
BRAHMS/SCHOENBERG Piano Quartet No. 1
Brahms’ Piano Quartet in G minor is one of his most energetic and uninhibited pieces with a wild gypsy dance at the end. In Schoenberg’s technicolor arrangement of the chamber work for orchestra, the Quartet emerges as a thrilling showpiece. Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, “Turkish,” is a technically demanding yet sweetly poetic romp. Within Her Arms, scored for an ensemble of 15 strings, is composer Anna Clyne’s touching memorial to her mother.
